Configuration Manager Technical Preview Update 1810.2 released.

MSIX is the Windows app package format that provides a modern packaging experience to all Windows apps. The MSIX package format preserves the functionality of existing app packages and/or install files in addition to enabling new, modern packaging and deployment features to Win32, WPF, and WinForm apps. Starting in the 1810.2 Technical Preview of System Center Configuration Manager, you can run a conversion wizard directly from the Configuration Manager console that will help you convert your existing .msi applications to the MSIX format.

This preview release also includes:

Configuration Manager site administrator authentication – You can now specify the minimum level of authentication your administrators must use to access Configuration Manager sites.

New Management Insights rule to verify peer cache source update requirements – When you update the site to the latest version of Configuration Manager, this rule verifies that you also update all peer cache sources (version lower than 1806) to the latest client version.

New client notification action to wake up devices – You can now wake up Configuration Manager clients from the device or collections view in the console.

Simplified scheduling of full collection evaluation – Starting in this release, it is easier to configure a query-based collection to not update. Existing collections where “Schedule a full update on this collection” was unchecked but had a schedule set, will continue to update on the assigned schedule.
