Install Windows Server 2016

Today we install Windows Server 2016 Standard Edition. This installation in future will host SCCM SQL. I make some preparation – download Windows Server 2016 *.iso and create “Virtual Machine” (VM).

1. Start VM and press “Space” button when message “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD” appear;

winservinst1a2. Set your “Language“, “Currency format” and “Keyboard“. Click “Next” button;

winservinst13. Click “Install” (we don’t need to repair);

winservinst24. Select your “Edition” and “Deployment Type” (with” or “without” graphical user interface “GUI). I’m select “Windows Server 2016 Standard (Desktop Experience)“.

There is no 32-bit Windows Server 2016, only 64-bit architecture.

After selecting click “Next” button;

winservinst35. Read and set check mark at “I accept the license terms” and click “Next” button;

6. Select “Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)“;

winservinst57. Select target Disk and click “Next” button;

winservinst68. Installation begin;

winservinst79. When installation complete you get message about restart, click “Restart now” button or wait (system restart themselves);

winservinst810. Enter password for built-in user “Administrator” and click “Finish” button;

winservinst911. System installed and you can login-in (“Ctrl+Alt+Delete“);
