SCCM Technical Preview Branch Update 1709.
System Center-configuratiemanager (SCCM) Technical Preview Branch is a pre-release version of SCCM that allows IT professionals and organizations to test new features and capabilities before they are made generally available. Update 1709 was released in September 2017 and included several new features and improvements, such as:
- Configuration Manager in Azure: This feature provides a new way to deploy and manage Configuration Manager without requiring on-premises infrastructure.
- Ramen 10 Fall Creators Update support: SCCM 1709 introduced support for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, including new features such as Delivery Optimization, co-management of Windows Update for Business policies, and the ability to configure Windows Defender Application Guard.
- Improved Software Center: SCCM 1709 includes an improved user interface for Software Center, making it easier for end-users to browse and install available software.
- Co-management policy evaluation: This feature provides the ability to evaluate co-management policies on a per-device basis, allowing customers to more easily monitor and manage co-management deployments.
- Improvements to Task Sequence debugging: SCCM 1709 introduced several improvements to Task Sequence debugging, including the ability to view Task Sequence progress in real-time and the ability to stop a running Task Sequence from the console.

This month’s new preview features include:
- Co-management– Co-management is a solution where Windows 10 devices with Fall Creators Update can be concurrently managed by Configuration Manager and Intune, as well as joined to Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to provide a way for you to modernize Windows 10 management over time. This release also includes the following improvement for customers using System Center Configuration Manager connected with Microsoft Intune to manage mobile devices:
- Improved VPN Profile Experience in Configuration Manager Console – VPN profile settings are now filtered according to the platform. When you create new VPN profiles, each supported platform will contain only the settings appropriate for the platform. Existing VPN profiles are not affected.
