How to turn off NEON and transparency in Windows 10. Microsoft has been updating its Windows 10 apps for a while now. These updated apps now resembled something between MacOS and Windows 7’s Aero theme, with a glass-like transparency and blur effect applied to the sidebar and Windows of many in-box apps.
Removing Transparency from Windows 10
- Open the settings app and navigate to Personalisation > Colours
- Locate the “Transparency effects” toggle and toggle it off. This turns off transparency for both the Start Menu and Action Center, in addition to the updated apps as well.
