Configuration Manager The RPC server is too busy to complete this operation. This error came up at the Database Information step of the SCCM setup wizard. At this step, you basically specify site database server details.

System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is a popular software tool used by IT professionals for managing and deploying software and updates to large groups of computers. However, like any software, it can encounter issues that can be frustrating to diagnose and fix. One common issue that users of SCCM may encounter is the error message “The RPC server is too busy” or “RPC Server Unavailable.”

RPC, or Remote Procedure Call, is a protocol used by Configuration manager to communicate between different components and servers. This error message indicates that SCCM is unable to establish a connection with the RPC server, which can cause various functions within the Configuration manager to fail, such as software deployments, inventory updates, and client installations.

There are several reasons why this error may occur. One of the most common reasons is a high load on the server or network, which can cause the RPC server to become overwhelmed and unresponsive. Other possible causes include firewall settings that are blocking the connection, misconfigured or outdated DNS records, or issues with the RPC service itself.

The below-listed steps should help you fix the error “The RPC server is too busy to complete this operation”.

  1. Click on Start\Run type services.msc.
  2. Locate and double-click on the Remote Registry service from the list.
  3. Click on Log Tab.
  4. Click This account and type in NT AUTHORITY\Local Service.
  5. Now, set both password fields blank.
  6. Click Apply and OK.
