Improvements to Power BI Request Access

We’ve upgraded the experience for users who create PivotTables connected to Power BI datasets. Prior to the improved experience, when users tried to refresh a PivotTable connected to a dataset that they did not have access to, nothing would happen. Now, a dialog box appears that informs them that they do not have access to the dataset,  and allows them to click a link to request access from the owner. Once access is granted, users can go back to the PivotTable and refresh to continue their analysis.

Notable Fixes

  • We fixed an issue where the letter “j” was not being properly inserted.
  • We fixed an issue where certain buttons in the ribbon would not draw correctly when the window was resized.
  • We are now removing duplicates from Data Validation AutoComplete dropdown lists.
  • We fixed an issue that was causing Excel to consume excessive memory.
  • We fixed an issue where the app would close unexpectedly as a result of PowerQuery data processing.
  • We fixed an issue with LET functions where the name argument was the same as the column reference and the row was absolute.
  • We fixed an issue with the “Relink Lists to New Site” dialog, where relinking to a new SharePoint list URL that exceeds 63 characters was not allowed.
  • We fixed an issue where the close button was being disabled in the Macro Builder tab.

Access

Notable Fixes

  • We fixed an issue with the Access 2016 error “Your computer is out of disk space,” generated when the app could not process large .csv files on linked tables.
  • We fixed an issue so that modern charts will now show localized currency symbols when currency values are formatted.
  • We fixed an issue where a reading pane could disappear when the user switched folders and was using a pinned web add-in.

Outlook

Notable Fixes

  • We fixed an issue where the app was using over 500 threads for a specific task.
  • We fixed an issue where users would receive an error message when clicking “Send\Receive All Folders” while working in offline mode.

Word

Notable Fixes

  • We fixed an issue with a OneDrive conflict that would occur when closing a label-protected file.
  • We fixed an issue where comments were being incorrectly displayed in a loop when clicking on “previous” and “next.”
  • We fixed an issue where the cursor would scroll to the end of the document after deleting a paragraph mark.
  • We fixed an issue where switching between Linear and Professional in LaTex equations could result in display errors.

Office Suite

Notable Fixes

  • We fixed an issue where four policies that were set to only take enable/disable status are now set to take numeric values and be written to HKCU.
  • We fixed an issue related to specific example text which would display poorly due to the rich-edit HTML ignoring the HTML small element and not resetting the character format masks at the end of a hyperlink.
  • We fixed an issue that was causing a “Publish Package Failed” error during an update, which would cause a file-type association to be lost.
  • We fixed an issue where users were unable to install M365 apps when PowerShell was disabled.
  • We fixed an issue with OCPS client code by enabling config service for correct URLs in place of Federation Check.

Improved Recommended PivotTables experience

Recommended PivotTables are now more intelligent and easier to use! The dialog box interface has been replaced by a redesigned panel, making it easier to view all of your options and simpler to change your data selection before inserting a recommended PivotTable. To access the feature, open a workbook containing data and select Insert > Recommended PivotTables. Review the recommendations and insert the one you want into your workbook.

  • We fixed an issue where, when closing a comment, pending bookmarks also closed.

  • We fixed an issue where, when a user paused the Read Aloud function, the app would skip to the next paragraph when restarted.
